Located approximately 19 miles from Orlando, FL, Lake Mary was rated by Niche as the second best place to live in seminole county. With Just under 15,500 residents, Lake Mary is a suburb that offers quiet neighborhoods for families and modern apartments, luxury townhomes, and rental properties. In the second quarter of 2018, the average cost of a home in Lake Mary was $268,800. As far as crime rate, Lake Mary is one of the lowest in Florida, thanks to their proactive, community-based Police Department.

Education

Education in Lake Mary is superior. The Seminole County Public School district is ranked as one of the top school systems in both the state and the nation. During the 2011-12 school year, the district was designated as an Academically High-Performing School District by the Florida Department of Education for the fifth consecutive year. Among the district’s many other honors, Newsweek Magazine, U.S. News, and the Washington Post ranked Seminole County Public Schools in the top four percent in the nation.  The Lake Mary area also has a number of highly regarded private schools such as the Lake Mary Preparatory School.

The City’s main redevelopment efforts have been focused on Lake Mary’s downtown development district, a vibrant community with a unique culture perfect for walking through.Downtown is home to fine dining, sandwich shops, clothing boutiques, offices, a beautiful park, the stunning Events Center and City Hall. Every Saturday, residents and guests congregate at City Hall to enjoy the gorgeous Florida weather, local produce and crafts by all provided by local vendors at the Lake Mary Farmers Market.If it’s an evening atmosphere that you’re searching for, you can attend Wine ART Wednesdays. This event, held the first week of each month at City Hall,  includes food trucks, a wine/beer garden, artists, live music, shopping, restaurants and more!


Recreation

The beauty of Lake Mary is natural. Whether you bike, run, walk or rollerblade, you can appreciate and enjoy it in this lovely city! The Rinehart Trail, part of the Cross Seminole Trail system, runs through Lake Mary. The Parks and Recreation facilities are beautifully maintained and offer something for everyone who visits the parks. The ideal Florida weather will make you want to take advantage of every opportunity to be outdoors.

As a family-centric community, Lake Mary offers a variety of youth recreation opportunities for your children. Whether your child is interested in baseball, softball, soccer, golf, tennis, or even paddleboarding, they have a program for them! For our seniors, those 55 and older, they provide an atmosphere of comradery and entertainment at the Senior Center and through various activities such as bridge, sewing, chair aerobics or line dancing.
